With your feet dipped in the pool, dine under the stars at Patch of Sky, Andheri’s newest addition to the social circuit.
What Is It?
Located atop Aureole Hotel in a bylane of Andheri, Patch of Sky is a vegetarian’s paradise. After Breeze in Powai, this poolside rooftop restaurant also takes the same route. I have to admit it was a little difficult to find this eatery.
However, also another good thing that emerged was the fact that the restaurant is a bit cut off from Mumbai’s main street mayhem. You can quietly enjoy a beautiful sunset view from this poolside restaurant.
What’s In It?
The interiors are simple and appealing. The space is small and yet the owners have managed to fit in almost everything. A seating of close to 50 people, a plunge pool alongside a bar and two canopies by the corner. We were specifically impressed by the poolside bar, which has been strategically located and designed by India’s first lady bartender, Shatbhi Basu. Not to forget, she has also been equally creative with the bar menu. Where else can you get a cucumber drink with curry leaves?
What To Eat?
While some of us love the ‘Only-veg’ restaurants, the intention is not to dissuade the meat lovers. We have to admit that the restaurant has been quite experimental even with its vegetarian food. Consequently, we loved their signature Modern European and Asian dishes like Pimento rice (stuffed grilled zucchini bed of tandoori mash and paprika sauce), the Bocconcini (smoked tomato and zucchini skewers with basil emulsion) and Ricotta and Orange Tortellini.
Verdict by Curly Tales
For those in Andheri, Patch of Sky is clearly a great place to spend an evening at. Also the food is good, the music is light and the view is not bad. We wish it was more accessible and the pool was bigger! We would give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
