Indian Railways To Monitor Cleanliness With The Help Of WhatsApp

North India Railway sector to monitor cleanliness in trains using WhatsApp groups that will be supervised by senior railway officials. 

What Is It?

Each department of the railways in North India will have separate WhatsApp groups to monitor their cleanliness. The platforms on each stations, pantry, beddings, coaches, toilets and air conditioning will have groups on WhatsApp that will be run by railway officials of the area. Photographs of the departments will be uploaded on the group on regular basis to keep track of the cleanliness inside trains.

What Else?

Along with monitoring cleanliness, Hazrat Nizamuddin Station is also designing a 24 coach cleaning system. It basically works as a car wash in which a 24 coach train can be washed and cleaned within 8 minutes. This ₹1.6 crore plant will require 240 litres of water per wash as opposed to 1500 litres being used in case of manual washing. This coach washing plant can also wash up to 250 trains per day.
