Travel From Mumbai To Alibaug In Less Than An Hour

Under 140 Characters

Alibaug beaches are calling you this summer and the best part is that this time they are just an hour away for you from Mumbai courtesy to the city’s first Ro-Ro ferry service.

What Is It?

Mumbai’s first Ro-Ro or Roll on, Roll off ferry service planned to start in a month will allow you to reach Alibaug from Mumbai within an hour rather than spending 4 hours while driving to it. Just drive your car into the ferry, park, sit tight, give it 45 to 50 minutes to transport you and you are there. The ferry will operate from Bhaucha Dhakka aka Ferry Wharf in Mazgaon to Mandwa in Alibaug.

What Else?

The ferry will make 6 to 8 trips per day and will carry between 50 and 100 vehicles including full sized luxury buses and a total of 500 passengers. The construction of the vessel, manufactured in China, is almost done and is being brought in from China. Once the vehicle arrives tests will be run on it for safety measures and only then will it be made available to the public.
