The municipality fees on hotel and restaurants in Dubai are going to be cut down to 7 per cent from 10 percent, which means eating out and staycations will get a lot cheaper.
What Is It?
The new municipality fees were directed by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai to cut down the hotel and restaurant fees to 7 percent from 10 percent. This move is taken in order to make Dubai a favourite investment destination.

In line with the directives of @HHShkMohd we are announcing a 3% reduction of fees on the sale value for hotel facilities and restaurants in Dubai to enhance its position as a preferred destination for both investment and tourism

Why This Step
“We continue working upon the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to facilitate the process of doing business, increasing the emirate’s competitiveness and enhancing the partnerships between the public and private sector thus ensuring the growth of all the economic sectors, with focus on the tourism sector.” As per HH Sheikh Hamadan.
Further added, “We have a very strong tourism sector that enjoys a lot of potentials and we are quite sure that it will continue its valuable contribution to the emirate’s GDP”.
