Train and bus services have been severely impacted in Punjab due to the bandh on December 30. As per reports, more than 200 trains have been impacted because of this, including Vande Bharat and Shatabdi Express. PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) buses were also impacted on Monday. 163 Trains Cancelled Due To Punjab Bandh

According to the Hindustan Times, train services were severely disrupted due to the Punjab Bandh today. Train services were impacted from 7 AM to 4 PM. This includes trains like Vande Bharat and Shatabdi Express. As many as 221 trains were impacted in their entire ordeal. Around 163 were cancelled and 14 were rescheduled.

Three Vande Bharat Express trains and three Shatabdi Express were among those whose services were affected. Two Vande Bharat trains between New Delhi and Vaishno Devi and one between New Delhi and Amb Andaura were cancelled. Meanwhile, Shatabdi trains to Kalka, Chandigarh and Amritsar were cancelled.

Hindustan Times reported that the Indian Railways partially cancelled seven trains, regulated 14, and rescheduled 13. Furthermore, they announced the short-originating of 15 trains, and the short-terminating of 22 trains due to the agitation in Punjab.

For passenger convenience, bulk messages were sent regarding train cancellations, short terminations, and all the other diversions. Also, additional ticket counters were established at major stations to process refunds efficiently for the passengers.

Roads Blocked, Bus Services Impacted & Transportation Hit

The Punjab Bandh also affected vehicular movement on roads. This was mainly around Dhareri Jattan Toll Plaza and the Patiala-Chandigarh National Highway on December 30. This has paralysed commute and freight movement across the state. Private buses and PRTC bus services were also impacted from 10 AM to 2 PM.
