Ice cream’s journey to iconic status has been a sweet and flavourful one. Its rich, creamy texture and sweet flavours have been tantalising taste buds for centuries, making it an iconic treat in various cultures across the globe. It’s common to see people walking down the streets, smiling while licking their favourite ice cream flavour from a cone or cup. And now, five ice cream varieties, three from Mumbai and one each from Mangaluru and Bangalore have made it to the list of 100 most iconic ice cream in the world.

According to TasteAtlas, five ice cream varieties from all over India are the most iconic ones. TasteAtlas food rankings are determined by audience ratings.

Mumbai’s K. Rustom & Co. founded in 1953 is an iconic spot. Their Mango ice cream sandwich is a must-have with slabs of flavourful ice cream sandwiched between thin wafers. Mumbai’s Natural Icecream has also made it to the list, with tender coconut as the most iconic flavour. This tropical treat that uses fresh coconut meat in a creamy ice cream base. Founded in 1971, Apsara Ice Creams also made it to the list with guava as the most iconic flavour to have. The guava ice cream is celebrated for its authentic taste, with small chunks of guava fruit and a hint of spice mimicking the way the fruit is traditionally eaten here.

Mangaluru’s Pabba’s has also made it to the list, founded in 1975. One of their iconic offerings is the gadbad ice cream. It combines various flavours, fruits, nuts, and syrups, resulting in a delightful and visually appealing treat. Founded in 1982, Bengaluru’s Corner House joins the list with Death by Chocolate as the most iconic flavour. The richness and depth of chocolate used in this dessert have made it a city-wide favourite.

This Dessert Will Always Be Iconic For All Ages
