UAE has a lot more than the world’s tallest and the craziest. Adventure junkies are in for a treat when in the city. Sky diving, bungee jumping and scuba diving are adventure sports available in pretty much in any country abroad today. However, adventure in the UAE is a little different. So, if you wish to step out of the box and try something different, here are 5 wacky adventure sports you must try in UAE.

1. X Line Dubai Marina

Xline Dubai Marina, is the world’s longest urban zip line. The zip line reopened on 3 June, after it closed on March 15 in line with government’s precautions to combat Covid. As well as being the world’s longest urban zipline, the second XLine travels for twice the distance and lasts for twice the time. It also has twice the number of lines so that friends and family can ride in tandem.

You’re going to need to hang tight for this one, the XLine flies over land and water at up to 80km/h, and takes you from 170m down to ground level. The 1km zip line runs from one of the Amwaj Towers across the marina to the Dubai Marina Mall. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to look out for the Princess Tower and Cayan Tower on the way down!

The attraction operates four days per week, from Wednesday to Saturday, between 3.30pm and 6.30pm each day. All riders must be between 12 to 65 years of age, taller than 130cm, weigh 50 to 100kg and in good medical health. In addition, all guests must bring a valid ID -passport, driving license or Emirates ID) and your confirmation email.

2. Flyboarding, JBR Dubai

Jet Blade, also known as Fly boarding is one of the most thrilling experiences in the water sports arena. Ever wondered what it would feel like to fly above water and dive right back into the waves? Fly boarding is one activity that can make you feel up in the air – and it is unbelievably easy.

Guests can enjoy a half-hour beginner’s lesson and fly with a flyboard amidst the stunning JBR backdrop. The sessions will be super vise of one of our sessions with high professional instructors. All riders must be 13 or above and the maximum weight limit is 120 kgs. Riders under 16 years of age must have a legal parent or guardian sign waiver.

3. Banana Boat Ride, JBR Dubai

Climb aboard a banana boat at JBR Beach in Dubai and get the best ride for your buck. Enjoy all the thrills of a jet ski, only with a little more padding! The banana boats can hold up to 6 people at a time to make it a real party on the Arabian Gulf. Get an adrenaline rush as they navigate the tight turns, pivots, and high-speed bursts. Along the way, take in the nearby sights, such as the luxury shopping and dining area of JBR Beach, Palm Island and Ain Dubai.

4. Aqua Trek

Walking underwater amongst over 50,000 aqua creatures is an experience one will never forget, isn’t it? Atlantis The Palm Dubai lets you enjoy this life-changing experience. And what’s even better is that you can indulge in this activity without any diving experience. The ‘World’s Deepest Aqua Trek Experience’, lets adventurers go 32 feet down, to the bottom of its lagoon filled with marine life.

Dive the depths of the Ambassador Lagoon aquarium, home to 65,000 marine animals including a dazzling array of marine species including sharks, rays and colourful fish. From kids to grandparents, beginners to professionals, the aquarium packages for all ages. Trekkers must bring their own swimmers, towels, wetsuits, equipment, footwear and the Aquatrak helmet, will be provided.

5. Hatta Kayaking

Breeze through the scenic views of Hatta dam on a kayak. Kayaking is the new-age water sport and Dubai seems to have got the sport bang on.  Explore the wide expanse of Hatta Dam and it’s mesmerizing surroundings while cruising on a kayak. Contrary to misconceptions, kayaking does not need rowing experience or expertise as the still waters are quite comfortable to row through. Plus, there will be instructors to help you out while you figure out things.

Along with the regular kayaks, there are other types of boats like electric boats, tour boats and doughnut boats, for you to explore the area.
