The FSIS issued the recall notice after Perdue Foods notified them that the company received a consumer complaint. The consumer found a metal wire in one of their products. Concerned that the contamination could be in other products as well, the FSIS called for a recall on Friday.

The recalled products include PERDUE Simply Smart ORGANICS Breaded CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS, PERDUE CHICKEN BREAST TENDERS, and BUTCHERBOX Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets. All these products bear the ‘Best If Used By’ date of “03/23/25”, that is, March 23, 2025.

While talking to NBC News, Jeff Shaw, Perdue Foods’ senior vice president of food safety and quality said that “a very thin strand of metal wire” was found in one of their products. Out of caution, they have decided to “voluntarily recall all of these packages of products.”
