1. MBZ-SAT Blasts Off To Space

MBZ-SAT, which is the most advanced satellite in the region, was blasted off to space on January 14 at 11:09 PM. This was done from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and is the second Emirati-built satellite that has been catapulted into the Earth’s orbit. It was blasted into space aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket.

Recently, Dubai RTA announced that it has upgraded eight marine transport stations across the emirates. This involved upgrading the infrastructure of the marine transport stations. As a result, there is improved, nighttime lighting, provision for handrails/handgrips, and enhanced flooring with safety and security marking. Not to mention, it is in compliance with maritime standards.
3. Paid Parking Announced In Kalba City
From February 1 onwards, there will be paid parking in Kalpa city of Sharjah. This was announced by the Kalbag municipality on Tuesday, January 14. The paid parking will be from 8 AM to 10 PM from Saturdays to Thursdays and Fridays will be free. However, zones where fees apply throughout the week and on unofficial holidays will be exempted from this.

Recently, Kiren Rijiju, who is the Minister of Minority Affairs and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs visited Saudi Arabia. He also had the honour of visiting the vicinity of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. He visited the country for a key discussion surrounding Hajj 2025. Not to mention, the visit was a crucial step towards ensuring the preparation for the pilgrims of the country is seamless.
