India’s Gen Z Craves Independent Travel Adventures
For many young adults globally, venturing abroad signifies a milestone. While some celebrate with post-graduation trips, in India, this dream materialises only after securing employment. In fact, 2 out of 3 young Indians diligently save, with only 1 in 5 opting for buy-now-pay-later schemes. The survey sheds light on Gen Z India’s travel preferences. By understanding these goals, Skyscanner empowers young explorers by helping them identify preferences and equips them with resources for effective trip planning and securing deals.
Mohit Joshi, Skyscanner’s Travel and Destinations Expert commented, “Gen Z in India is bursting with wanderlust! Whether seizing semester breaks (42%) or commemorating occasions (39%), their passion is undeniable. We want to empower them to turn travel dreams into reality with tools and resources, ensuring a smooth first trip. Features like ‘Price Alerts’ and the ‘Cheapest Month’ tool can help Indian travellers save an average of 32% on flights.”
