86.5 km Haryana Greenfield Expressway To Start Soon: A Game-Changer For North-South Connectivity

In a significant infrastructural development, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced the construction of the Haryana Greenfield Expressway. This 86.5 km expressway is designed to connect Paniyala on the Haryana-Rajasthan border to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Barodameo in Alwar, Rajasthan. The project, valued at approximately ₹1,400 crore, aims to improve travel between North India and Mumbai by offering a faster and more direct route.

The Haryana Greenfield Expressway, also known as the Trans-Haryana Expressway (NH-152D). It currently spans 227 km, providing a six-lane, access-controlled route from Ambala to Narnaul. It crosses several key districts, significantly contributing to intra-state travel. The new extension will integrate seamlessly with this existing infrastructure. This will provide a direct link to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

This connectivity upgrade will be particularly beneficial for travellers from northern states like Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. It will reduce both travel time and distance, eliminating the need for long detours via NH-148B and other connecting routes. While making the journey towards Mumbai more efficient.

Currently, travellers from northern regions use the Trans-Haryana Expressway to reach Narnaul, followed by a series of roads passing through Paniyala, Kotputli, Jaipur, and Ajmer to reach Mumbai. The new expressway will significantly shorten this distance, leading to substantial savings on fuel and travel time, especially for long-distance commuters and commercial transporters.

According to the NHAI, the project is expected to be completed within two years. Once operational, the Haryana Greenfield Expressway will provide an efficient alternative, greatly benefiting commuters and facilitating faster movement of goods, boosting regional economies.

Apart from enhancing travel efficiency, the expressway is expected to stimulate economic growth in the regions it crosses. Improved connectivity typically leads to increased trade opportunities, job creation, and the growth of ancillary businesses. Local communities will have better access to major urban centres, thereby fostering socio-economic progress.

The Haryana Greenfield Expressway exemplifies India’s commitment to building world-class infrastructure, ensuring modern and efficient road networks that meet the evolving demands of travel and commerce.
