Travelling by air, though convenient, can be quite a nerve-wracking experience for a few people. Especially, in the case of medical emergencies and as scary as this can be, sometimes it’s just unavoidable. Recently, a flight from Dubai to Dhaka was diverted to Karachi after there was a medical emergency. Here’s what happened on the flight.
Flydubai Flight From Dubai To Dhaka Diverted To Karachi
On Saturday, 18 February, a Flydubai flight, which was headed from Dubai to Dhaka had to be diverted to Karachi after a medical emergency. Flight FZ 523, operated by Smartwings, flew from Dubai International to Dhaka airport but had to be later diverted to Karachi airport due to this emergency, which led to the death of a passenger. It is, however, not known yet if the passenger died on the plane or after landing.

The Scheduled Time For Landing At Dhaka Was 8:30 PM
As it happens, the flight took off at 1:45 pm and was scheduled to land at 8:30 pm in Dhaka. However, after the emergency landing the plane left for Dhaka at 8:17 pm Karachi time. This is not the only incident where a passenger died on board. Back in November, a male passenger aboard an easyJet flight from Cyprus to London’s Gatwick Airport died on the plane. Although a defibrillator was used to resuscitate him, he could not be saved.
In a report by the National, the officials from fly Dubai told them that they were offering support to the family of the passenger during this difficult period and they are already in touch with relevant authorities.
While these emergencies are hardly in our hands, it’s important that we ensure we’re in the best of our health before boarding a flight.
