On August 31, 2023’s brightest and biggest super moon will be taking to the sky, as a blue moon according to a report by the Khaleej Times. It should be noted that this is an extremely rare celestial event and the next one is expected to take place in 2037. However, this is not the first super moon of the year or even the month! We say this because the first one happened on August 1. In case you didn’t know, a blue moon happens when two full moons can be seen from the Earth in the same calendar month, while a super moon occurs when the moon is closest to the Earth. So, this celestial event is basically a Super Blue Moon, as it’s a combination of both cosmic occurrences.

In fact, it is so rare that according to NASA, the next supermoon may happen in January and March of 2037. Moreover, while a supermoon may occur 3 to 4 times a year, only 3% of those full moons are blue moons. If you are also wondering about where to watch it, you can see this event from anywhere in the UAE. However, if you own a telescope, you might want to gaze at this brilliant site from the desert, where it’s going to be darker for a better view. Not to mention, you can also sign up for guided tours or paid events happening across the UAE, where you can participate in Bluemoon observation along with like-minded folks.

Doesn’t it sound like a completely fascinating event? Well, make sure to be present for this event. After all, it’s going to take place only after more than a decade.
