Weather and environment play a great role in vegetation and these are crucial reasons behind getting good-quality healthy ingredients rich in taste in hilly areas. In a conversation with our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani in this Sunday Brunch episode, Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared glimpses of a delicious pahadi lunch at his home. As shared by the CM, people in this beautiful state usually indulge in simple homemade food. The mouth-watering food spread includes Chainsoo, Jhangore Ki Kheer, Lal Chawal Raita, Thechwani, Dal, and more yummy delicacies.

Pushkar Singh Dhami’s home has a dedicated corner for growing vegetables and fruits. There are spinach, coriander, cabbage, brinjal, orange, and more in the beautiful area. Freshly grown veggies and fruits using good-quality soil and fertilisers surely taste a lot better than the ones sold at local markets. Uttarakhand’s chilly weather is the cherry on the cake for a gastronomic feast.

The Chief Minister Is A Great Cook

From his school days, Pushkar Singh Dhami tried his hands at cooking. Once he moved to Lucknow for higher studies and rented a room before shifting to a hostel, he had to cook his meals. This was when he learnt to cook properly. Initially, he started by cooking Tehri. Slowly, he learnt to prepare all kinds of dishes.
