After Indian Railways mandated the Aarogya Setu app for its passengers, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) too has declared the app as a must for air travel. Even the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made it compulsory for all those who need to travel by metro, once the services resume. The Government of India had launched the Aarogya Setu app in an effort to monitor and mitigate the spread of coronavirus in the country. The mobile application uses GPS to detect a person’s surroundings and notifies whenever the user is closer to someone affected. It also gives detailed statistics about nearby cases. One can also take a self-help assessment through the Aarogya Setu app.
What’s Happening?
The airlines had already made the app mandatory for those who travelled to India on special evaluation flights under the Vande Bharat Mission. Now the mobile application will become one of the key permits for regular flights too.
AAI has recently released some guidelines that travellers need to abide by once the airlines resume services. Here are the new guidelines to be followed by all passengers:
- They must have the Aarogya Setu app.
- Everyone must wear a mask and other protective gears.
- Passengers should maintain a minimum of 4-feet distance from others.
- They must avail web-check in facility.
- They should sanitize hands frequently.
- Every passenger must cooperate with the airport staff.
With the possibility of resumption of domestic flights soon, #AAI has released some steps that must be followed so passengers are fully geared up while travelling. Wear a mask, carry a hand sanitizer, keep docs handy & register on #AarogyaSetuApp. #AAICares pic.twitter.com/N6ooZIoOsc
