Do you happen to be someone who has plans to travel to Abu Dhabi? Well, if you are a short-term visitor, then using public buses is certainly a great way to save money while travelling around the city. And the most cost-effective option for you is certainly the seven-day or 30-day public transport pass. These are issued by Abu Dhabi Mobility and offers commuters unlimited access to bus services in the emirate. Here’s more about how you can apply for the same.
Weekly And Monthly Passes For Unlimited Access To Bus Services
If you are visiting Abu Dhabi for a short-term period, then you will certainly want to get yourself a weekly or monthly pass that allows you unlimited access to public bus services. This is available for Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. However, these passes do not extend to intercity buses! For a seven-day pass the cost is AED35 while for a 30-day pass, it is priced at AED95.
You Need A Hafilat Card For This
In case of wondering how you can obtain the pass, you must have a Hafilat Smart Card. You can either choose between an Anonymous Hafilat Card or a Personalised Hafilat Card. For an Anonymous Hafilat Card, all you need is pay AED10 and the card is valid for 10 years. However, this does not allow balance transfer in case of loss or damage unless it is linked to the Emirates ID. The Personalised Hafilat Card is designed for seniors, people of determination, and students. They offer subsidised rates for these groups and are linked to the holder’s Emirates ID. Not to mention, it allows balance transfer.
Where Can You Buy A Hafilat Card?
You can buy public transport passes at sales and recharge machines which are located around the city and Customer Happiness Offices at bus stations and Zayed International Airport. Finally, you can also purchase an Anonymous Hafilat Card in the locations of Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society, Al Ain Cooperative Society, and all branches of the Lulu Hypermarket and Lulu Exchange that are located in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. It’s worth mentioning that you can also apply for both an Anonymous Hafilat Card and a Personalised Hafilat Card from the website.
So, the next time you plan to travel to Abu Dhabi, make sure to keep these passes in mind so that it makes travelling cheaper.
