One of the best ways to do so is by adding a teaspoon of cumin to a glass of water. After you’ve left it in for a few minutes, the adulterants, if any, will float while the pure spices will settle down. Not to mention, you can also take some cumin seeds in your hand and rub them vigorously. If your palm turns black, it means that it is adulterated! It is important to ensure that the ingredients are genuine as cheaper food items and chemicals can harm the body of the person consuming them.

So, the next time you go to buy cumin seeds, don’t forget to do a quality check before you pay for the same.
