It was just recently that the Dubai Government of Human Resources Department confirmed that Friday, June 27, would be the official public holiday for the Hijri New Year. Marking the long weekend, employees truly rejoiced this move. And now, after the UAE announced the holidays for Hijri New Year, Kuwait and Oman have also extended their weekends. Hijri New Year Holiday Announced By UAE
Kuwait, in a cabinet decision, has declared June 26, Thursday, a public holiday. This has been done for the occasion of the Islamic New Year, as revealed by Golf Business. So, basically, all ministries and state institutions will not be working and they will resume their work on Sunday, June 29. Similarly, Oman has also confirmed that Sunday, June 29, will be their official public holiday.

Kuwait & Oman Also Announce The Holiday
The holiday would be for both public and private sector employees, and this would be for the occasion of the Islamic New Year. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that these announcements come after the UAE recently announced that private sector employees will receive June 27 as a paid holiday. This followed the earlier statement from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources that confirmed the same date as a holiday for federal employees.
