Rajasthan is the birthplace of India’s first handcrafted single malt whisky, which is continuing to receive accolades. The brand has once again proven itself as a forerunner in the Indian single malt business by winning awards at the prestigious AFAQS CommuniCon. Godawan, the creation of Diageo India’s The Good Craft Co., is producing a unique single malt that defies convention and breaks stereotypes around whisky production. This announcement comes soon after the brand won “Single Malt Whisky of the Year” for its collector’s edition Godawan 100 at the 2024 London Spirits Competition.

Godawan received a Gold Award from the AFAQs Communicon for Best Product Launch PR. After making its world premiere at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in 2022, the brand used its original narrative—which combines innovation and legacy—to produce something eye-catching that would garner attention everywhere. It curated an immersive lounge at the India Pavilion of the Cannes Film Festival 2022, bringing to life the tale of its whisky and reinforcing its mission to “Make in India, for the World.”
