Mumbai is set to witness quite a lot of traffic congestion today as two very important events are taking place in the city. Both events are expected to see throngs of people attending, leading to the inevitable bottlenecking of roads. One is the IPL Match at the Wankhede Stadium at Nariman Point and the other the Jahir Sabha at Shivaji Park in Dadar. The Mumbai Police has therefore issued an advisory for those who may have to travel via road today.

The social media handle of Mumbai Traffic Police took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and announced that people who travel via roadways should expect traffic congestion primarily owing to three events happening in Mumbai simultaneously.
The three events are the Jahir Sabha at Shivaji Park which PM Modi will attend as part of his election campaign, the IPL match at Wankhede Stadium and a public meeting at Fataka Grounds in BKC.
Citing the three events, the Mumbai Traffic Police stated that traffic congestion should be expected at Marine Drive, Eastern Express Highway or EEH and Western Express Highway or WEH. Many people are quite upset since these are some of the major connectors of the city.

The MTP X handle also stated that people who want to travel to the airport or by the railways should plan an alternative route given the eventful day. They also said that they are trying to resolve the issue of traffic jams as soon as possible.
Many people also asked them what alternative routes could be used since almost all the major routes would be blocked. Nevertheless, the advisory stands as a testament to the commitment that the Mumbai Traffic Police has towards ensuring the convenience of the citizens.
