International Kite Festival Is Back

One of the major highlights of Makar Sankranti in Gujarat is the International Kite Festival, which makes the celebrations different from other parts of India. The event begins a few days before Uttarayan, and with just its announcement, people of all age groups—from children to adults—get excited. While children look forward to seeing unique kites they’ve never seen before, for adults, it’s a perfect place to stroll around and shop for traditional items.
As the International Kite Festival kicked off today, January 10, people are gearing up to fill the skies with colour and celebration! Watch amazing kites from around the world, explore a colourful pavilion showing cool travel spots, shop for unique handicrafts, and munch on delicious snacks. When & Where Is The Event
The celebrations begin on January 10 in Rajkot at Shri Ramesh Parekh Rang Darshan, Race Course, Surat at Riverfront Tower, and Dholavira at Bhanjda Dada Temple, Sunset Point. On January 11, the festivities move to Shivrajpur Beach in Devbhumi Dwarka, Statue of Unity at Dam View Point No. 1, opposite Valley of Flowers, Ekta Nagar, Kevadiya, and Vadnagar at the Sports Complex, Nalakhi Ground.
From January 12 to 14, Ahmedabad becomes the main hub of celebrations, with the Sabarmati Riverfront hosting large-scale events. Vadodara also joins the Uttarayan celebrations on January 13, adding to the festive spirit across the state. People from all over India and the world, including Japan, the UK, the USA, and France, join the celebrations.
