Air India Express has expanded its network by adding Agartala as its 46th destination. The airline launched five new routes on 1 September 2024, with daily direct flights connecting several cities. These new connections include routes from Agartala to Guwahati and Kolkata, Hyderabad to Guwahati, Bengaluru to Vijayawada, and Bengaluru to Indore.
Air India Express Unveils Agartala As Latest Destination
Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, is now the airline’s 32nd domestic destination. Passengers from Agartala can now enjoy daily flights to both Guwahati and Kolkata. These flights provide convenient one-stop connections to eight additional domestic destinations, including Delhi. With this new addition, Agartala gains easier access to major cities, enhancing both business and leisure travel.
The airline’s expansion doesn’t stop at Agartala. New routes have also been launched from Hyderabad to Guwahati. This adds another layer of connectivity for passengers in these cities. Additionally, flights from Bengaluru to Vijayawada and Bengaluru to Indore are now operational. These routes further strengthen Air India Express’s presence in the domestic market.
In addition to the domestic routes, Air India Express provides one-stop connections to various destinations. Passengers can now travel to cities like Bhubaneswar, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad from Agartala. The network also includes international routes, making it easier for travellers to reach key international destinations.
One-Stop Connectivity
Guwahati is another important hub in Air India Express’s network. With 77 weekly flights, Guwahati offers direct connections to eight domestic destinations, including Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata. The airline also provides one-stop connectivity to 20 more domestic destinations and four international cities, including Bahrain and Singapore.
Kolkata, one of the busiest cities in the airline’s network, is now connected to 12 destinations through 124 weekly flights. Direct connections are available to cities like Bhubaneswar, Chennai, and Kochi. In addition to these, Kolkata offers one-stop connectivity to international locations, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Hyderabad sees significant flight activity, with 187 weekly departures. The city connects directly to 18 domestic destinations and three international ones, including Jeddah and Riyadh. One-stop connectivity is available to 10 domestic and nine international locations.
Bengaluru, the tech hub of India, leads with 376 weekly flights to 24 domestic destinations. Cities like Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai are among the popular destinations. Internationally, the city is connected to Abu Dhabi, with one-stop options to several other global destinations.

Air India Express also operates from Indore, offering direct connections to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Sharjah. Meanwhile, Vijayawada now connects directly to Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
