Air India Trichy-Sharjah Flight Makes Precautionary Landing With 154 Flyers At Trivandrum Airport

On Monday, an Air India Express had to make a precautionary landing at Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram airports. The plane was flying from Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, to Sharjah with about 154 passengers on board. The precautionary landing of flight 613 at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport was because of technical reasons. The clarification stated that it was not an emergency landing.

Air India Express flight Trichy-Sharjah had to make an emergency landing at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Flight IX613 operated from Tiruchirapalli to Sharjah on July 31. 

It departed from the Tiruchirapalli International Airport in Tamil Nadu and made a precautionary landing at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The decision was taken because of a technical glitch that took place after the plane took off.

The official statement from the airline stated that this was not an emergency landing but a precautionary one. An Air India spokesperson informed that even though it was a precautionary landing, all 154 passengers are safe and sound.

Airport Declared Full Emergency

 The flight took off from Tiruchirapalli International Airport in Tamil Nadu at 10:45 am but had to be diverted to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The Air India Express flight landed at the Trivandrum airport at 12:03 pm. 

 The airline, while clarifying that it was not an emergency landing but a precautionary one, stated that they regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers because of the same. They also mentioned that alternative arrangements were made for the travel of these passengers. 

A full emergency was declared by the airline at the international airport after the flight departed from Tiruchirapalli International Airport by the airport authority. 

AIX Connect is a subsidiary of Air India and now operates flights under ‘Air India Express’.
