A tragic incident had taken place at the Pune Airport in April this year. An AirAsia employee had fallen from a ladder at Pune Airport and was found dead. According to the reports, AirAsia’s assistant manager was held as a suspect in this incident. Here are the details of the accident of an AirAsia employee.

An Air Asia assistant manager has been detained by the Pune City Police on suspicion of being responsible for the death of an airline employee who passed away after falling from a ladder at the Pune Airport in April of this year. The deceased’s widow has reported the incident to the Vimantal Police Station.

On April 13, 2023, Vivian Anthony Dominic, 33-year-old, a security guard employed by AirAsia, was found dead when he fell off the ladder used by passengers to board and deplane at Pune Airport. The incident had been reported to the city police as an accidental fatality.

However, after receiving a complaint from the deceased’s widow, they have now filed an FIR, and S Ajay Hariprasad, an assistant manager with Air Asia, has been charged.

Details Of The Complaint

In her complaint, the complainant claims that the accused assistant manager failed to give her husband the necessary safety equipment, which led to his death when he fell from the ladder. She claims that no safety belts, helmets, or safety jackets were given to the workers. She has further claimed that when she went to pick up her husband’s body at a hospital in Pune, the accused did not provide her specific details about the occurrence.

The complainant went to the city police to file an FIR after the deceased’s last rites and rituals were completed in Tamil Nadu. According to the police, following a complaint from the deceased’s wife, they have opened a case and are continuing their investigation.

In a statement, the airline stated that they regret to inform about their employees’ loss of life. They further stated that their first concern was to provide assistance to the deceased’s family.

They further said, “AIX Connect has been fully cooperating with the police investigation and providing the grieving family with unwavering support and assistance. Our thoughts and condolences continue to be with them during this difficult time.”
