Ajinkya Rahane On Living In Dadar
Kamiya, a Sindhi who has lived all her in Mumbai, couldn’t help but flaunt her Marathi speaking skills with Ajinkya Rahane during the introductory pleasantries. It is safe to say, our guest was impressed by it! The interesting episode began with a conversation about his childhood and living in Dadar, Mumbai.
Ajinkya Rahane spoke about relocating from Mulund to Dadar in 2018. As revealed by the cricketer, he travelled back and forth between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Mulud for cricket practices. This lengthy daily commute was becoming hectic and tiring day by day. So, he decided to settle down near BKC to make travelling convenient.
Kamiya mentioned how she felt that the real Maharastrians in Mumbai reside in Dadar. For those who are unaware, this area is centrally located in the city, which easily connects to the important sector of the financial capital. The cricketer wholeheartedly agreed and said, “Shivaji Park is where I played cricket since my childhood. Cricket-wise, I have a lot of memories; I used to travel to Shivaji Park from Dombivli and play matches. I collected many precious memories here!”

Ajinkya Rahane also emphasised how Dadar is home to some of the best Maharashtrian eateries. Eating lip-smacking food with his friends after matches happens to be one of his core Dadar memories. And to be honest, Mumbaikars and real Dadarkars, know what he is talking about! Those seafood restaurants and authentic Maharashtrian food, ah, they’re to die for! The foodie in us is psyched to hear him speak about Dadar’s food.
He also revealed that before shifting to Mulund, he and his family lived in Dombivli for 15 years. If you’re wondering, this is a suburban city located in the Thane District of Maharashtra. So, his journey to a permanent home address in Central Mumbai began in Dombivli!
