Life is full of ups and downs, it never moves in a linear direction. Just like that, movies tend to flop or be a hit at the cinema theatres. The consequences of both aspects affect the people behind the movie negatively and positively. We understood how the success and failure of a film affect actors, from the ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ co-stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. They joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for this recent Sunday Brunch episode. Watch the entire video to learn how they bonded on the sets.
Akshay Kumar Shared His Thoughts On Success Or Failure Of His Movies
This episode was released right around the time ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ hit the big screens. We touched upon the topic of the success and failures post-film release and whether it affected Akshay and Tiger. Akshay replied, “Friday, Saturday, Sunday and then on Monday, you have to move on with the other film.” While his co-star said, “It used to affect me quite a bit.”
Then Tiger shared that his last film, ‘Ganapath’, didn’t do well on the big screens. To overcome the failure of the film phase, Akshay was always beside him and kind of talked him out of it. Tiger told us that he picked up Akshay’s mantra for dealing with the success and failure of a film release and it helped him. “You worry about it through the weekend and Monday onwards you just move on,” he said.
He Believes It Is Very Natural To Be Unhappy About The Same
To continue, Akshay Kumar told us that he developed this ‘Friday-Saturday-Sunday’ mantra because he thinks it is quite natural to brood and be unhappy about the failure of a film. “It is very human because you work for a year on a film, so those three days suffice (to sulk about the failure),” he said. Also, because you can’t take your melancholy mood to another movie set, therefore it’s better to move on.
