In order to avoid as many people to gather at one place and the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently made an announcement stating that all restaurants in Delhi will be shut till March 31.

To make sure that ‘social distancing’ is maintained and people follow it, gathering of more than 20 people at one place has also been banned. This will also include gatherings that are social, political, religious, academics related, seminars and conferences as well.

As far as the restaurant industries go, while they have been asked to stay shut till March 31, take-away and delivery options will still be available. A number of delivery services have also taken measure in order to ensure that there is a zero-contact policy with the delivery person.

The Delhi CM was also reported as saying that people who have been asked to remain in home quarantine are being stamped. There have bene numerous incidents where people have fled from their home. Those who do not end up following these strict rules and put others in harm’s way, they will be arrested and an FIR will be lodged against them.

Currently, the borders have been sealed, no overseas flights are allowed to enter the country.
