The second edition of Bharat Tex 2025, India’s largest global textile event, concluded on February 17. It was hosted across two grand venues—Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi and India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. Backed by the Ministry of Textiles and 11 major textile industry bodies, Bharat Tex 2025 showcased India’s leadership in sustainable textile innovation, circularity, and responsible manufacturing. 2nd Bharat Tex 2025, India’s Largest Global Textile Event
Centred around the theme ‘Innovation Meets Responsibility,’ the recently concluded Bharat Tex 2025 showcased the textile sector’s shift towards sustainable practices, digital transformation, and value chain efficiency. According to News18, special pavilions on smart textiles, green manufacturing, and the circular economy demonstrated the industry’s commitment to environmentally responsible growth.
Through interactive zones for fabric testing, innovation showcases, and startup-driven textile solutions, the expo showcased how India is taking charge as the world’s focus shifts towards sustainable textile solutions. The event, reportedly, featured a record-breaking 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000 international buyers from over 110 countries, more than 1,20,000 visitors, and over 12,000 products!
Manoj Kumar, Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India visited the expo on Monday. He was impressed by the ‘Apratim’ exhibition in Hall No. 3 and the ‘Utkrisht Khadi’ exhibition in Hall No. 10 of Bharat Tex-2025. He held ‘Chai Pe Charcha’ on ‘Revival of Khadi and Future Challenges’ with the representatives of Khadi Institutions and artisans who had come from different parts of the country to participate in Bharat Tex-2025.
PM Narendra Modi Emphasised The Importance Of Promoting Khadi
On Sunday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also attended Bharat Tex 2025. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to share that he talked about the “strong potential of the textiles sector” of India and the Government’s efforts to support the sector. He even shared some pictures from his visit.

While he was there, the PM highlighted the importance of promoting Khadi. He said that during the country’s freedom struggle, “Khadi was for the nation”, but now it should be “Khadi for fashion”.
This exhibition showcased the historical journey of Khadi, modern Khadi fabric development, the process of muslin fabric production, and the journey from form to fashion and plant to fabric. There was also a wide range of excellent Khadi products from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Punjab, and New Delhi at the second edition of Bharat Tex.
