The news of the Air India crash in Ahmedabad devastated the entire country. Vir Sanghvi, an Indian journalist and writer, took to X (formerly Twitter) to support Air India after the deadly crash. He posted a selfie while seated in business class and captioned it, “Proud and happy to be travelling @airindia again!” He also tagged his wife, Seema Goswami. In an article on his official website, Sanghvi acknowledged the airline’s faults but highlighted his loyalty to it. He stated that it’s unfair to blame Air India without knowing the exact cause of the crash.

Journalist and author Barkha Dutt also voiced her support on X. She said this is a time when the airline and its staff deserve maximum support and solidarity. According to her, they should not be subjected to mindless speculation, especially since the crew had just a 10-15 second window to respond. She also pointed out that they are no longer alive to defend themselves, and people should not judge the airline’s safety record so quickly.

Award-winning comedian and actor Vir Das shared a post on X expressing his support for Air India. He said the crash was heartbreaking but added that he has flown with the airline all his life and considers their crew among the best. He ended the post by saying he stands with them and will continue to fly with Air India in the future.
