Amidst Boycott Trend, These Celebrities Are Flying Air India And Supporting It

The news of the Air India crash in Ahmedabad devastated the entire country. It happened at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport when the London-bound Air India Dreamliner 787 crashed just moments after take-off. The tragedy claimed the lives of 241 people on board, along with 33 people on-ground. Only one passenger onboard survived the crash. This horrifying incident sparked public outrage against Air India. Many accused the airline of having a history of faulty aircraft and poor safety standards. However, a few Indian celebrities have now stepped forward to show their support for Air India.

Celebrities Who Have Supported Air India After The Crash

1. Vir Sanghvi

Vir Sanghvi, an Indian journalist and writer, took to X (formerly Twitter) to support Air India after the deadly crash. He posted a selfie while seated in business class and captioned it, “Proud and happy to be travelling ⁦@airindia again!” He also tagged his wife, Seema Goswami. In an article on his official website, Sanghvi acknowledged the airline’s faults but highlighted his loyalty to it. He stated that it’s unfair to blame Air India without knowing the exact cause of the crash.

2. Barkha Dutt

Journalist and author Barkha Dutt also voiced her support on X. She said this is a time when the airline and its staff deserve maximum support and solidarity. According to her, they should not be subjected to mindless speculation, especially since the crew had just a 10-15 second window to respond. She also pointed out that they are no longer alive to defend themselves, and people should not judge the airline’s safety record so quickly.
