Anupam Kher On Failure And Success
Coming from a non-Bollywood background, Anupam Kher had to work hard to make a name for himself in the industry. He reflected on failure and success in life. We had an interactive live session with one of his lucky fans and she had the chance to ask him some questions.
She emphasised how the recent generation of actors is playing it safe when it comes to scripts or characters. They aren’t experimenting or challenging themselves to bring something special to the big screens, unlike the old gems of Bollywood.
The actor replied, “I always wonder that today’s generation knows what frightens them and yet they don’t want to overcome that fear, that’s ironical. I always tell myself that people will laugh at you but it isn’t going to be the end of the world.”
He added, “Why are we constantly worried about making mistakes? Mistakes are brilliant, beautiful! Failure teaches you much more than success.” Wiser words have never been spoken.

There Is Nothing As An Easy Character On The Big Screens
While discussing acting and films, Anupam Kher shared that there is nothing easy about acting. Even with the simplest of roles, he has to improvise to make it more likeable for the audience. The legendary actor also highlighted how he isn’t satisfied with the audience’s cheers or laughs because he also wants to amuse himself while doing the work he loves.
He stated, “I also want to entertain myself while doing comedy roles. I want to do work in such a manner that people will say – aapne yeh kaise kiya. Voh sunne ke liye mein apna kam difficult karta hoon aur achcha karta hoon.”
