In the recent episode of Tere Gully Mein, we met and explored Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar with comedian Gurleen Pannu. Despite being from Chandigarh, she revealed that Delhi holds a special place in her heart. So, over some delicious chole bhature and pakode, we talked about what Gurleen loves about Delhi and why she fears driving so much!

Born and raised in Chandigarh, Gurleen Pannu is a true blue Punjabi at heart. She now lives in Mumbai but despite all this, she loves Delhi! When we stopped at Durga Sweet Corner for some spicy chole bhature, she shared her love for Delhi food and said, “Delhi main khana best milta hai, aap Delhi ka khana match nahi kar sakte, yeah universal fact hai!”

But there is something apart from the food that Gurleen Pannu loves about Delhi and that is the people in the city! She shared that she loves watching people randomly fighting on the streets, aunties quarrelling like no one’s business, and how everyone’s interested in enjoying such scenes on the streets. “Sab involved rehte hai, they are very ‘milansar’! Yahan pe community building sahi hoti hai,” she shares.

“In Mumbai, there is a concept of boundaries, they are more professional, and that’s all great but it took me time to settle because I have grown up with people mingling so much in Chandigarh and Delhi,” she further shared.

Shares That She Doesn’t Like To Drive

When we asked Gurleen Pannu if she likes to drive since Chandigarh is known for its ‘gedis’, she revealed that while she knows how to drive, she refrains from driving. She elaborated that although she hasn’t had any traumatic experiences or anything, she is just afraid of driving on busy roads. According to her, she isn’t a great driver and that’s why she prefers to take autos or just walk around, whenever possible! Gurleen shared that she is so scared of traffic that she needs help to even cross the road.
