3. Cuttack

People have been celebrating this festival in Cuttack for over 500 years. After Kolkata and Delhi, Cuttack is one of the best Indian cities for this colourful festival. Cuttack is known as the “Silver City”, and instead of using cardboard and clothes, the pandals’ backgrounds are decorated with silver ornaments and work called “Chandi Medha”. The entire city comes alive with lights. People come out of their houses to pray and enjoy delicacies like Dahibara Aloodum and a special fried food item called Thunkapuri.

4. Mumbai
Mumbai is another wonderful place to celebrate Durga Puja. There are several pandals set up in Andheri and Juhu, and many Bollywood celebrities visit these pandals, with some of them even hosting celebrations. Mumbai is also home to Bengali communities that organise cultural programmes, Dhunuchi Dance, Sindur Khela and stalls serving street food like Khichuri Bhog, Kathi Rolls and Mishti Doi.
