Recently reports surfaced that Sultan Al Neyadi has mentioned he’s ready for his next mission. And as the completion of the first mission comes with immense success, the UAE is already making its next batch of astronauts ready for future space missions. Yes, Emirati duo Astronauts Mohammad AlMulla and Nora AlMatrooshi have undergone geology training with NASA. Here’s all you need to know about these two budding flight-eligible astronauts.

Astronauts Mohammad AlMulla & Nora AlMatrooshi Undergo Geology Training

Sultan Al Neyadi with his mission has set the bar quite high for budding astronauts and scientists in the UAE. And of course, there is no stopping these immensely talented researchers, as they make the nation proud. So, the country is already readying its next batch of astronauts, who are continuing to train for future human space flight missions. Yes, astronauts, Mohammad AlMulla and Nora AlMatrooshi have undergone geology training. This training is a part of the NASA astronaut candidate class of 2021, and this information was revealed on X (formerly Twitter) by the Dubai Media Office. Yes, it was also mentioned there that the classes covered topics, including the surfaces of the Moon and Mars. As it happens, it also included drawing a geological map and field training on surface processes.

They’re Training For Future Human Space Flight Missions

In fact, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre also took to its official social media to share images of the two Emirati astronauts busy in the training process. As the duo are on track with their extensive training, they also underwent spacewalk training. Yes, this is going to happen at NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at the Johnson Space Centre in Houston Texas. These two Emirati astronauts are training along with 10 of the NASA classmates, who are selected from a pool of 12,000 applicants from across the USA.

With the class set to graduate as early as 2024, they will be recognised as flight-eligible astronauts.
