Beginning at 2 AM on March 5, 2025, Pune International Airport will move all flight operations to its New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB). Enhancing the passenger experience and operational efficiency at one of India’s fastest-growing airports is the goal of this momentous move.
Contemporary Improvements At Pune’s New Terminal
The recently built terminal is an amazing 52,000 square metres with state-of-the-art facilities that are intended to improve the travel experience for passengers. The NITB’s ten aerobridges make boarding and disembarking procedures run smoothly. With the ability to handle up to 9 million passengers a year, the terminal is well-positioned to effectively oversee both local and international flights, guaranteeing a more convenient and seamless travel experience for every traveller.
More than 90% of flights now operate out of the new structure, which has been in use since the middle of last year. The average number of flights that the airport records each day is between 190 and 195.
Improved Amenities To Aid Travellers
The new terminal has 25 self-service kiosks and 34 check-in counters to speed up the check-in procedure and increase efficiency even more. In order to speed up baggage retrieval, there are also five baggage carousels, two of which are specifically designed for international arrivals. The purpose of these improvements is to increase overall passenger happiness and reduce wait times. For a hassle-free trip, travellers are encouraged to check their airline notifications and arrive early at the new terminal.
An important turning point in Pune Airport’s dedication to offering its customers top-notch amenities is the switch to the NITB. Travellers can anticipate a contemporary, effective, and cosy setting that complies with international standards.

A contractor has been hired to renovate the old terminal but site clearance is required before work can begin. The arrival area will be transformed into a second departure area with a new security hold during the first phase. It is anticipated that the project would be finished in six to eight months, Airport Director Santosh Dhoke told Times Of India.Â
