India will be hosting the iconic Border-Gavaskar trophy this year from 9 February 2023. We are just a week away from the test series starting and fans are super excited to watch the 4 matches of India and Australia clashing on-field. Australian cricketers have started arriving in the host country. The team caught the flight on Wednesday but unfortunately, Usman Khawaja failed to catch the team flight, Cricket Australia shared recently.

Australian Cricketer Usman Khawaja Shared A Hilarious Meme For His Indian Visa

The Australia opener took to his social media to share a meme stating how he is waiting for his Indian visa. The meme is a popular template from the famous television series Narcos where the lead actor is seen waiting for something sitting on a swing. Usman used this meme to depict his feeling of spending hours waiting for his Indian visa to arrive so that he can catch a plane too. He shared the meme captioning, “Me waiting for my Indian Visa like…🤣 #stranded #dontleaveme #standard #anytimenow”. He received his Indian visa some hours later on Wednesday.

He Later Caught A Flight On Thursday

Usman Khawaja had to wait for some time before embarking on his air journey to travel to India. He took to his social media to share a photo of him inside the flight to India and he captioned it, “India, meh arah hoon. 🇦🇺–>🇮🇳 #incoming #khawajyenroute 🏏”. A spokesperson of Cricket Australia shared that Usman caught a flight on Thursday and he was the only cricketer in the Australian squad who had to face the visa problem. The rest of the players boarded the usual scheduled flight earlier. Along with Usman Khawaja, some of the team’s staff also boarded this Thursday flight to India.

The first match of this 4-match test series will begin on 9 February. And before this intensifying series starts, the Australian cricket squad will participate in a 4-day training camp near Bengaluru. After this camp, they will fly to the first venue of the series, Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The venue of the second match is Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The third match will be played in Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium and the last in Ahmedabad.
