Pick-up and drop-off at airports can be extremely frustrating when several cars arrive at the same time. With limited space, people picking up or dropping off travellers may sometimes have to wait longer than expected, even for a quick airport run. To make things easier, Melbourne Airport is opening new Pick Up and Drop Off zones for Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Read on to know more!

New Pick-Up & Drop-Off Zones At Melbourne Airport

From October 6, 2026, people picking up or dropping off passengers at Melbourne Airport can use the new pick-up and drop-off zones at Melbourne Airport’s T123 Transport Hub. This means you can now avoid using the usual terminal curbside areas. These new zones are part of the Naarm Way project and aim to make pick-ups and drop-offs quicker and more organised.

The T123 Transport Hub is planned for passengers using Terminal 1, Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Each terminal handles different flights.

  • Terminal 1- Qantas domestic flights
  • Terminal 2- International terminal
  • Terminal 3- Virgin Australia domestic flights

How To Reach T123 Transport Hub?

If you’re visiting Melbourne Airport, you can reach the T123 Transport Hub by taking Exit 19 from the Tullamarine Freeway. For dropping off, you can go to Level 3 of the hub. This area has 3 lanes and 6 rows of parking. For picking up, you can move to the rear of Level 2. This area has more than 115 spaces, which is three times more than the old pick-up point.

The new pick-up area will be only for private cars. The old forecourt will be used by commercial vehicles like SkyBus, taxis and rideshare services. After dropping off a passenger, drivers can take the ramps to Departure Drive and move towards the Tullamarine Freeway. The new hub will also have a 19-metre-wide pedestrian bridge. It connects directly to Terminal 2.
