Autos, Cabs Allowed In Rajasthan’s Red Zones

The Rajasthan government is now allowing limited activities in the red zones of the state. As per the new rules, cabs and autos can operate in the containment zones by adhering to the norms of social distancing. Bans have also been lifted on the sale of pan, gutkha and tobacco products, though spitting will still be treated as a punishable offence. The public parks in these zones can also remain open now from 7 AM to 6:45 PM.

Rajasthan Government Permits Ola, Uber, Taxis And Autos To Operate In Red Zones

Despite the steady spike in the coronavirus cases in the country, the Rajasthan government has permitted Ola, Uber, taxis and auto-rickshaws to start services in the red zones. However, the authorities will allow these services only if the people adhere to the protocols of sanitization and social distancing. Rajasthan has recorded a total of about 7300 confirmed coronavirus cases with 167 deaths. However, as living with the pandemic is becoming the new normal, many states are now gradually allowing normal activities to resume.

What Else?

The Rajasthan government has allowed a few non-essential activities outside the red zones, only between 7 AM and 7 PM. A gathering of more than five people will not be permitted in any part of the state.  Also, educational institutions, shopping malls, gyms, swimming pools, religious places, theatres, bars, etc. will continue to remain closed. Beauty parlours and salons can open up, but only with proper precautions. Offices and factories operating in the state must close down before 6 PM so that the employees can reach home by 7 PM.

After being cooped up at home for more than two months, people in these containment zones will finally be able to step out for some fresh air. Nevertheless, staying indoors is still the safest option to contain the spread of the virus.
