Ayodhya: Women-Driven Electric Pink Autos To Give Devotees A Tour Of The Temple City

As Ayodhya prepares to welcome a sea of devotees on January 22, preparations are galore. The latest development in Ayodhya is that women-driven pink electric autos will ply in the city. Devotees will get to explore Ayodhya in a safe and pollution-free manner. Read on to know what’s more in store.

Ayodhya Welcomes Pink Autos Driven By Women; UP CM Yogi To Inaugurate It

Ahead of the grand ‘Pran Prathishta’ ceremony on January 22, the Transport Department in Ayodhya has made special arrangements for devotees. This includes introducing women-driven pink autos that run on electricity. These autos will ferry devotees across the various religious programmes on January 22. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate these pink autos on January 14.

Jaipur & Goa Introduced These Women-Driven Vehicles

Apart from Ayodhya, Jaipur also has pink autos. These were started way back in the year 2020. The Pink City introduced pink autos run by women to help tourists explore the cultural and historical city with assured safety. Tourists looking for sightseeing services in Jaipur prefer to book these autos as they are environment-friendly and are driven by women.

The Pink City Rickshaw Co. introduced these pink autos in Jaipur which have well-designed seats, a locker for belongings, mobile charger, city maps, water bottle holder and even a collapsible canopy. The women auto drivers are even taught simple English words so they can communicate with foreign tourists.

In 2022, Goa flagged off its first fleet of pink autos to serve its women clientele and provide a source of income for its women. While Mapusa got its first pink auto, more autos were added to form a fleet of 20. These autos plying on the streets of Goa have electronic meters and GPs installed. Also, visitors use an app is used to make bookings. Rotary Clubs in Goa are responsible for empowering these women with driving lessons and self-defence training. And also giving them pink uniforms to make sure they have a distinct identity.
