Over the last few years, Bali has emerged as one of the most sought-after holiday destinations among travel lovers. With stunning beaches and plenty of water sports to indulge in, this place is truly a paradise for beach lovers. Kelingking Beach is one such place where, after a challenging trek, people get to enjoy the beauty of nature without being surrounded by many people. However, with the upcoming elevator at this beach, travel lovers fear it might all change soon! Scroll on to know more about this.
Bali’s Kelingking Beach To Get An Elevator Soon
Kelingking Beach is located on Nusa Penida, Bali. Many of you might know it for its famous ‘T-Rex’ cliff. Besides that, this beach is famous for its stunning, raw beauty and secludedness, as a trek to get to the beach involves a challenging descent down a steep cliff.
The beach is nestled on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida Island, and the trek to reach the beach is steep and physically demanding. One has to go through rocky and narrow paths with steep stairs to get there. Reportedly, the descent takes about 20-25 minutes, while the ascent back up can take up to 30 minutes. In short, one requires good fitness and stamina to reach Kelingking Beach.
Understanding this situation, the local authorities decided to build a cliffside glass elevator at the beach. This will allow tourists to reach Kelingking Beach within minutes and enjoy the pristine stretch of sand with dramatic waves, without sweating all the way to get there.

Reportedly, more tourists, after learning about this development, have joined the growing number of concerned residents who feel the project will have disastrous long-term impacts on nature.
Heavy machinery and construction crews are changing the face of one of the world’s most iconic coastal vistas, and travel lovers are not happy about this. Many people have taken to social media and called out the local authorities for “ruining nature” and changing the very essence of Kelingking Beach.
