Bandipur Tiger Reserve In Karnataka Wins Best National Park Award In India

Bandipur Tiger Reserve situated in Chamarajanagar in Karnataka has the second-highest tiger population in India. The Tiger Reserve occupies a special place in the hearts of environmentalists and animal lovers for its efforts towards Eco-conservation. And now not only has its contributions and scenic beauty been recognized, but it has also won the Best National Park Award by Outlook Traveller. The award was presented in New Delhi on 22nd February and it was received by the Bandipur Tiger Project Director, T Balachandra.

The Outlook Traveller Awards(OLTA) are offered in a range of categories. A distinguished jury chooses the winners and honours the best travel destinations, travel entrepreneurs and hospitality brands each year. It also opens up certain categories to a reader’s vote. The award ceremony was held on 22nd February in New Delhi.

The CEO of Outlook Magazine, Indranil Roy conferred the award to T Balachandra, Conservator of Forest and Field Director of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. T Balachandra stated to Deccan Herald that Bandipur had been attracting a large number of visitors in the recent days. He further added that with this award, the responsibilities of the authorities of Bandipur Tiger Reserve has been increased.
