Bandra Fair is an annual festival that is looked forward to by people of all faiths every year. The fair commemorates the Nativity of Mother Mary and is celebrated in the month of September. The fair is back again this year and here are all the details, from dates, timings, and even its significance, that you need to know if you’re planning to attend this event with friends or family.

The Bandra Fair, also known as the Mount Mary Fair, is an anticipated event. This year, as always, the fair will be held around the Mount Mary Church in Bandra. The fair is studded with stalls by people from all over the country.

People of all faiths flock to the fair, milling around and buying trinkets as well as delicious snacks. This year, the fair will begin on the 10th of September and go on until the 17th of September. It will be held all day long, from 10 AM to 10 PM.

The event is free to enter although you’ll have to pay for the items you buy from the fair. You can choose from a host of scrumptious snacks like Kadio Bodio and street food that are as unique as they are tasty.

Mount Mary Church, officially known as the Basilica of Our Lady Of The Mount, commemorates the Nativity or birthday of Mother Mary each year. It is celebrated on the 8th of September. The fair is typically held from the first Sunday after the Feast of Blessed Mary is celebrated.

This fair has been held for more than 300 years now, as per a mid-day article. However, owing to the pandemic in 2020, the fair didn’t take place. The week-long fair witnesses people from all faiths and denominations. It has become an integral part of the culture of Mumbai.
