Working with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, the Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union is coming with this new initiative in Bangalore this month. All You Need To Know About Metro Mitra App:
- This app is specifically developed to make auto rides readily accessible to and from metro stations in the city.
- With the launch of Metro Mitra, getting autos in a bustling city like Bangalore is about to get a lot easier.
- This app is going to provide auto rides to commuters within a radius of 5 km from the metro stations in the Karnataka capital.
- The organising secretary of the Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union shared that the app is going to be launched in August, according to a report by Deccan Herald.
- Metro Mitra is going to help users to book autos for first and last-mile connectivity. In fact, they can buy tickets for metros as well.

Right now, the tests of the app are taking place. The metro stations where the app checking is being conducted are Jayanagar metro station and Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road metro station. The Deccan Herald report states that the pilot project of Metro Mitra includes a total of 20 auto drivers. There are going to be QR codes attached to these autos so that commuters can easily scan and get to know about the ride and driver.
Women Drivers Are Undergoing A Training Process
25 women are training for a period of 2 weeks. Following proper training and learning all the necessary skills, they can get their driving licences and drive autos. The organising secretary of the Auto Rickshaw Drivers Union added how they are going to help the women to buy autos by taking a loan from the bank.
