According to recent reports, the Uttar Pradesh government is considering extending curfew hours for bars in Noida and Ghaziabad and has even set up a committee to assess and analyse the feasibility of extending bar operating hours. Soon, Noida & Ghaziabad Bars To Remain Open Till 4 AM
Noida and Ghaziabad folks can now chill and have a good time at bars till the wee hours of the morning! As per recent reports, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to extend the curfew hours for bars in Noida and Ghaziabad. The time is likely to extend from the current 1 AM to 4 AM. With this move, the government aims to boost the state’s excise revenue, tourism, and nightlife.
For now, to assess and analyse the feasibility of these extended hours, the government has set up a five-member committee. They have been given a 15-day deadline to examine the feasibility, and its impact and also to explore additional revenue streams of this move.
While talking to Times of India, Adarsh Singh, Excise Commissioner in Uttar Pradesh, said, “Noida and Ghaziabad are part of NCR, and the per capita income of local people and economic activities are also similar to those in other NCR cities. In this context, it is important to explore new sources of revenue for the excise department. The committee is required to submit the report within 15 days.”
Operational Hours In Neighbouring NCR Cities
One of the biggest reasons for this push is seeing the operational hours of bars in neighbouring NCR Cities. Bars in Gurgaon and Faridabad, NCR cities in Haryana, are permitted to operate till 3 AM. This gives them a great opportunity to increase their income when people look for places to hang out late at night. Also, some Noida restaurant owners’ associations have recently requested permission from the government to increase the curfew hours for bars.
