Bengal Gets International Tourism Award For Being Best Destination For Culture

West Bengal has bagged the award for ‘Best Destination For Culture’ internationally. This is just another addition to the numerous tags that West Bengal enjoys. For the folks of West Bengal, it is just another obvious moment for them to celebrate. In this post, we will tell you all the reasons why Bengal is so LIT & received the International Tourism Award. Also, the good news was shared by West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee herself, during a programme in Kolkata.

Bengal Becomes Best Destination For Culture

As the people of Bengal are gearing up for Durga Puja, UNESCO’s announcement of giving Bengal’s Durga Puja the heritage tag was a welcomed move. CM Mamata even held a rally to commemorate this historical moment. As for the Best Destination For Culture award, it will be conferred to the state in Berlin next year & CM Mamata will be in attendance at this event. The award is being presented by Pacific Area Travel Writers Association, an affiliate of UN’s World tourism organisation.

Bengal To Be A Tourist Haven

CM Mamata Banerjee, received great appreciation and support from her government for bringing Bengal in the global cultural map. Babul Supriyo, minister in WB, told that the government will further work towards making Bengal into a tourist haven. He also said that the state government will surely live up to this tag conferred to the state. As for state, it is no secret that Kolkata is widely known for its culture, food, travel destinations and of course, its world famous famous personalities. You name a place and you will surely find a person with Bengal’s roots anywhere. Apart from this fact, with the upcoming festivities in the state, West Bengal is going to take centre stage for travellers and tourists.
