WhatsApp and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) Partner To Launch The QR Ticketing Service

WhatsApp and BMRC revealed on Monday that they have partnered to launch a WhatsApp chatbot-based QR ticketing service. The service is for Bengaluru’s rapid transit system, Namma Metro. The chatbot is available in both English and Kannada.

Also, the cherry on top is that commuters can purchase single-journey transit tickets, recharge metro travel passes, and even check updated fare tables and view transit timetables through this service.
The initiation process is the simplest – Just send a “Hi” to the phone number +918105556677 and you will be able to initiate interactions with the chatbot. For contactless entry and exit, commuters can scan the  QR ticket at the terminal.

Speaking on similar lines, A.S. Shankar, executive director (O&M), BMRC said in a statement, “It is a proud moment for us as BMRCL becomes the first transit service globally to launch QR ticketing service on WhatsApp.”

Well, we are sure, the new QR ticketing service on WhatsApp will be of great help to commuters!
