The Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced new traffic arrangements for the upcoming Lalbagh flower show. The event, organised by the Department of Horticulture, will run for 12 days starting from August 8, leading up to Independence Day. Anticipating a large crowd, authorities have put in place strict measures to manage traffic and ensure a smooth experience for all visitors.
Traffic Arrangements For 12-Day Lalbagh Independence Day
An estimated 10 lakh people, including tourists, dignitaries, foreign spectators, and schoolchildren, are expected to visit the flower show. This influx will undoubtedly put a strain on the city’s traffic. To manage this, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have imposed several parking restrictions and encouraged the use of public transport.
Parking has been prohibited in and around the Wilson Garden traffic police station limits. Additionally, parking on many surrounding roads will be restricted to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles.
The Lalbagh flower show is a much-anticipated event in Bengaluru, drawing large crowds every year. However, the sheer number of visitors can make travelling to the venue a challenge. By adhering to the traffic restrictions and using public transport, visitors can help ease congestion and make the event enjoyable for everyone.
Parking Bans To Prevent Congestion
Specific parking arrangements have been made to accommodate visitors. On Dr Marigowda Road, two-wheelers can be parked in the Al-Ameen College premises, while both two-wheelers and four-wheelers can use the Hopcoms parking lot. On K.H. Road, the Shanthinagar BMTC multi-storey parking lot is available for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Meanwhile, J.C. Road has the BBMP parking lot for the same.
Parking bans have been imposed on several roads to prevent congestion. These include:
- Dr Marigowda Road: From Lalbagh main gate to NIMHANS on both sides.
- K.H. Road: From K.H. Circle to Shanthinagar junction on both sides.
- Lalbagh Road: From Subbaiah Circle to Lalbagh main gate on both sides.
- Siddaiah Road: From Urvashi theatre junction to Wilson Garden 12th Cross on both sides.

- Krumbigal Road: Both sides.
- Lalbagh West Gate to R.V. Teachers’ College.

These measures aim to reduce traffic congestion and ensure the safety of pedestrians. The Bengaluru Traffic Police have urged visitors to use public transport to reach the venue. Options like the Namma Metro, BMTC buses, and cabs have been recommended as alternatives to private vehicles.
