While most people her age might prefer quiet evenings and slow mornings, Pushpa Prakash from Bengaluru has taken a radically different route. At 68, she has completed an incredible 49 treks, including the demanding Everest Base Camp trail. Her journey, which began at 65, continues to inspire many who believe age should not be a limit to exploring the world.

Pushpa Prakash: Staying Active After 60

Pushpa Prakash’s trekking journey began with a local trip alongside her daughter, and it quickly turned into a full-blown passion. According to The Better India, she has completed 49 treks across India in just three years, with seven of them in the Himalayas. Among these, the Everest Base Camp trek remains the most noteworthy. Despite the physical and mental challenges of high-altitude trekking, she managed it all with determination and discipline.

Her fitness journey goes beyond trekking. As reported by The Better India, she has also skydived in New Zealand, bungee-jumped from South Africa’s highest bridge, and scuba-dived in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. She proves that adventure has no age bar, as long as one remains committed to health and fitness.

The Discipline Behind Her Success

Pushpa credits her fitness and endurance to a disciplined daily routine. She wakes up during the Brahma Muhurta hours (between 3:15 am and 5:30 am), begins her day with yoga asanas, pressure point activation, and mudra meditation. This has helped her remain energetic and positive. Her consistent lifestyle has kept her free of common age-related conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure.
