From Fanta and Coke-infused chai to blue-coloured biryani, food fusion in India is hard to put into words. And now we have found yet another example of food fusion that makes us question our sanity—chocolate ice cream bar pakodas! A video of a person whipping up these ice cream pakodas is going viral, and the internet is not impressed.

Comedian Rohit Shah shared and reacted to a video of chocolate ice cream bar pakodas. As part of his ‘Besan Impossible’ series, he shared his two cents on this food fusion and it was apt and hilarious! He wondered who was coming up with these food fusion ideas and called this atrocious dish something that will give you “sugar and cholesterol sath main.” In the video, you can see the man making a besan paste with all the spices, dipping chocolate ice cream bars in it, and then frying it! Seeing this, Rohit asked people to come together to form an organisation called B.A.D. – Besan Atyachar Dal.

This isn’t the first time Rohit has ranted about the misuse of besan in the name of food fusion. A few days back, he posted about an “Inception level, Christopher Nolan” kind of vada pav, where the vendor was seen dipping pavs in besan paste, frying them, and then serving them with a vada in between! He said people could serve this dish in a gourmet restaurant and call it “deconstructed, then reconstructed fritters,” which should be sold for £15-20.

Netizens React To This “Atyachar” On Besan

From people calling it a frozen dessert made with palm oil to wanting to unsee this food atrocity, the comments on this post were simply hilarious! Hundreds of people commented on Rohit Shah’s besan ice cream food fusion and agreed with him that it was indeed an “atyachar” on besan. Many even asked for justice for ice cream and oil that were “harmed” in this food fusion.
