“Beti Ko Nahin Mana Kar Paaya,” Nawazuddin Siddiqui Shares A Funny Story About Buying ₹1.5 Lakh Bag For His Daughter

Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Our last meeting with Nawazuddin Siddiqui was during the pandemic when we talked to him about his journey as a struggling actor in Mumbai, his rise to fame and his ability to live a life of simplicity. This time, the actor par excellence invited us to his luxurious mansion in Mumbai for a Nawabi daawat. On this Sunday Brunch episode, he once again spoke to us about his middle-class mentality and about remaining price-conscious despite his fame and wealth.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui Revealed He Is Price-Conscious

While devouring a home-cooked meal of Matar Paneer, Dal Ghosht, Bajra Roti and Phirni at actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s home, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani asked the Indian star if he is still price-conscious. The actor narrated an anecdote to give us more clarity on the situation. He revealed that his daughter once took him shopping to Dubai Mall. She wanted her father to buy her a small bag.

As the actor followed his daughter across the mall, he believed the bag would cost between ₹15,000 to ₹20,000. Nawazuddin Siddique was led to a small boutique shop on the second floor of Dubai Mall. His daughter entered the store and selected a handbag of her choice. “Yeh chahiye mujhe, Papa” (I want this, father), she said.

He Shared A Hilarious Anecdote About Being A Doting Father

Nawazuddin Siddique gestured the bag to be quite small in size. But when he checked the price, he was shocked to know that it cost ₹1.5 lakh. After all it was a Louis Vuitton bag, an ultra luxurious accessory. “Mera itna jee jala,” ( I was so shocked) said the actor. Nawazuddin wondered that he himself would purchase bags costing anything between ₹600 to ₹2000. He was aghast to see his daughter spending a fortune on a handbag. “Wasted our money actually,” said the actor in jest. As a doting father, he said that he can refuse his son but not his daughter’s wish.

Amused with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s story, Kamiya Jani asked the actor about the most expensive thing he’s bought for himself. The Sacred Games actor spoke about telling his team to buy him clothes as per his preference. But he doesn’t recollect pampering himself with expensive items.

Well, his story definitely sounded relatable among most Indian fathers. So, if you too wish to see Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s most candid chatty side, then watch the entire Sunday Brunch episode on our YouTube channel.
