Sand storms in the UAE can truly be quite brutal. After all, it reduces the visibility on the road, making it difficult for the motorists to navigate, leaving them vulnerable. So, it is often advised to be careful and drive cautiously during such weather conditions. And now, motorists have been advised to exercise once again, as the National Centre of Meteorology has issued an orange dust storm alert for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

NCM Issues Orange Dust Alert

As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, the NCM has issued an alert for dusty sky and a decrease in temperature for the aforementioned regions. With yellow and orange dust alerts issued across the country, this will reduce horizontal visibility. As it happens, residents have also been advised to drive with caution. Yes, moreover, they’ve been asked to lock the doors and windows in order to prevent the dust from entering their houses.

Further revealed by NCM, the temperature highs are expected to be anywhere between 32°C and 37°C, while the lows could be between 22°C and 26°C.

What About The Wind Speed?

It is expected that moderate to strong winds will be blowing across the country. In fact, the speed could reach up to 50 km/h over coastal and island regions! Since, the weather is expected to be extremely dusty, motorists have been asked to exercise extreme caution while driving on the road.

So, if you happen to be someone who lives in the area for which the alert has been issued, you will definitely want to be careful while driving on the road. Not to mention, you will also have to be careful enough to ensure that the doors and windows of your house are closed so that these particles don’t enter your home.

Finally, it is expected that these extreme dusty weather conditions will continue till April 17. So, make sure that you are prepared for the same.
